  • leaves basil fresh finely chopped
  • clove garlic finely chopped
  • tsp olive oil 
  • medium onion finely chopped
  • servings grinding of salt & pepper black good
  • tbsp tomato purée 
  • 400 tomatoes chopped

Equipment

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic.
  2. Saute the onion until it is soft and translucent. If it sticks a little, add a splash of water.
  3. Add the tomatoes and tomato puree and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes until thick.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and add the fresh basil.
  5. Serve over freshly cooked pasta.
