Ingredients

  • tablespoons aniseed 
  • 12 cups fruit fresh assorted
  • tablespoons juice of lemon 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.3 cups sugar 
  • cups water

  • slotted spoon

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water, sugar, lemon juice, aniseed and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  3. Strain syrup; discard aniseed.
  4. Place fruit in a large bowl; add syrup and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
  5. Serve with a slotted spoon.
