Ingredients

  • cups breadcrumbs white soft ( 10 slices bread)
  • 0.3 cup granulated sugar 
  • tablespoons butter melted
  • 0.8 cup brown sugar packed
  • teaspoons apple pie spice 
  • lb apples peeled sliced (8 cups)
  • cup figs dried quartered
  • 0.5 cup apple cider

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of 12x8-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In medium bowl, stir together bread crumbs, granulated sugar and butter.
  3. Spread 1/3 of crumb mixture in bottom of baking dish.
  4. In medium bowl, stir together brown sugar and apple pie spice.
  5. Add apples and figs; stir to coat with sugar mixture. Spoon over crumb mixture in dish.
  6. Pour apple cider evenly over apple mixture. Top with remaining 2/3 of crumb mixture.
  7. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm.
