  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda 
  • 0.3 cup firmly brown sugar dark packed
  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • tablespoons crystallized ginger minced
  • large eggs 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.8 cup granulated sugar 
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • teaspoon ground cloves 
  • teaspoons ground ginger 
  • cup blackstrap molasses 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 12 servings ginger-molasses whipped cream

Directions

  1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add granulated and brown sugars, beating well.
  2. Add egg, beating until mixture is blended.

  4. Pour into a greased and floured 13- x 9-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 325 for 35 to 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
  6. Cut into 3-inch squares.
