  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • cup firmly brown sugar packed
  • 0.3 cup butter melted
  • large eggs beaten
  •  granny smith apples 
  • tablespoon ground cinnamon 
  • tablespoon juice of lemon fresh
  • cup milk 
  • 18 oz regular oats 
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped
  • teaspoon salt 
  • cup apple sauce unsweetened
  • 1.3 cups water

Directions

  1. Place pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until toasted, stirring once.
  3. Peel and chop apples.
  4. Spread on bottom of a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle toasted pecans over apples.
  6. Combine oats and next 10 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until well blended.
  7. Pour oat mixture evenly over apples and pecans.
  8. Bake, covered, at 350 for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 20 more minutes or until golden brown and set.
