Ingredients

  •  cinnamon sticks 
  • 0.5  apples i use 2 granny smith apples green peeled seeded cut into chunks
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon 
  • serving ice cubes 
  • 1.5 ounces juice of lemon freshly squeezed
  • cup sugar 
  • 1.5 ounces vodka 
  • cup water 

Equipment

  • food processor
  • sauce pan

Directions

  1. Place water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently. When sugar has dissolved, add cinnamon stick and ground cinnamon. Bring to a boil, stirring, then reduce heat to a low simmer and let cook for five minutes.
  2. To Make Cocktail: Put apple, lemon juice, vodka, and simple syrup in a food processor and pulse until smoothly puréed, about twenty pulses.
  3. Pour apple mixture into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice. Shake for ten seconds. Strain into a martini glass.
  4. Garnish with a thin slice of apple, if desired.
