Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups golden beets 
  • 0.8 cup granulated sugar 
  • 0.8 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.8 cup butter softened
  • teaspoon vanilla 
  •  eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.8 cup rolled oats 
  • teaspoon baking soda 
  • 0.5 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • cup peanuts chopped
  • ounces semi chocolate chips 
  • tablespoons rolled oats

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Crush cereal.
  2. Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cereal, 3/4 cup oats, the baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir in 3/4 cup of the peanuts and 2/3 cup of the chocolate chips.
  3. Spread in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches.
  4. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup peanuts, remaining 1/3 cup chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons oats.
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour. For 24 bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
