Ingredients

  • tablespoons firmly brown sugar dark packed
  • pound ham canned at room temperature
  • tablespoon mustard prepared
  • 0.5 cup orange juice 
  • tablespoon orange rind grated

Equipment

  • frying pan
  • oven
  • roasting pan

Directions

  1. Place ham on rack in a shallow roasting pan.
  2. Bake, uncovered, at 325 for 30 minutes.
  3. Score top of ham in a diamond pattern, and stud with cloves.
  4. Combine orange rind, juice, brown sugar, and mustard; spoon half of mixture over ham.
  5. Bake 15 minutes.
  6. Spoon remaining orange mixture over ham.
  7. Bake an additional 15 minutes, basting frequently with pan drippings.
  8. Remove ham to a serving platter.
  9. Garnish with orange slices, if desired. Slice and serve hot.
