Ingredients

  • 15 ounce tomato sauce canned
  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes diced with garlic canned
  • teaspoons olive oil 
  • cup onion chopped
  • 12 ounce penne pasta dry
  • pound mild sausage italian
  • cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ounce tomato paste canned
  • 0.5 cup white wine

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  2. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  3. Heat oil in a large, deep skillet.
  4. Place sausage and onion in the skillet and cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
  5. Drain excess fat.
  6. Pour in wine, and cook for 1 minute, stirring, to deglaze the pan. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Toss with cooked pasta, and place in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle top with mozzarella.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
