Ingredients

  • slices bacon chopped
  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes diced with garlic and onions, undrained canned
  • 30 ounce cannellini beans beans white drained canned
  • tablespoon chili powder 
  • tablespoon blackstrap molasses dark
  • 1.5 teaspoons mustard dry
  • cup onion chopped
  • tablespoon red wine vinegar 
  • 1.5 cups water

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon from pan, reserving 2 teaspoons drippings in pan.
  3. Add onion, chili powder, and mustard to drippings in pan; saut 3 minutes. Stir in bacon, water, and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 7 minutes. Partially mash beans with a potato masher.
