Ingredients

  • inch beef tenderloin steaks 
  • 0.3 cup butter cut into pieces
  • 10.8 ounce beef broth undiluted canned
  •  garlic cloves pressed
  • tablespoons peppercorns green
  • cup fetzer eagle peak merlot 
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • teaspoon pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Sprinkle steaks evenly with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown steaks in hot oil in a skillet over high heat.
  3. Remove from pan.
  4. Add broth, wine, and garlic to skillet; cook mixture over high heat 15 minutes. Return steaks to pan, and cook 5 to 6 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness.
  5. Remove pan from heat; remove steaks, reserving sauce in pan.
  6. Add peppercorns to sauce, and gradually whisk in butter.
  7. Serve sauce over steaks.
