  • 0.3 teaspoon peppercorns black freshly ground
  • tablespoons capers 
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil extravirgin
  • cups unshelled fava beans 
  • tablespoon parsley fresh minced
  •  garlic cloves chopped
  • tablespoon jalapeno chopped
  • tablespoon juice of lemon fresh
  • teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Remove beans from pods; discard pods. Cook beans in boiling water 1 minute.
  2. Remove beans with a slotted spoon. Plunge beans into ice water; drain.
  3. Remove tough outer skins from beans; discard skins.
  4. Place beans in a medium saucepan; cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until tender.
  5. Drain and rinse with cold water; drain.
  6. Place beans and remaining ingredients in a food processor; process until smooth.
