  •  bay leaf 
  • pounds beef stew meat cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • tablespoon brown sugar 
  • cup cooking wine dry red
  • tablespoon flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 cup parsley fresh chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoons rosemary fresh chopped
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • cup less-sodium beef broth 
  • teaspoons olive oil 
  • medium onions vertically sliced
  • 0.8 teaspoon salt 
  • cup sun-dried tomato halves packed cut into strips ( 2 1/2 ounces)
  • 1.8 cups water 
  • tablespoon worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Add beef; cook 4 minutes, browning on all sides.
  3. Add sliced onion; cook for 7 minutes or until onion is softened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add minced garlic; cook 1 minute, stirring frequently. Stir in flour; cook 2 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Stir in water and next 9 ingredients (through bay leaf). Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer 1 hour. Uncover and simmer 30 minutes or until beef is tender. Discard bay leaf.
  6. Sprinkle each serving with parsley.
