  • 0.3 cup apple cider 
  • tablespoon apple cider vinegar 
  • slices bacon 
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • 10 ounces apples i use 2 granny smith apples diced
  • pound kale chopped
  • 1.3 cups onion thinly sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

  • dutch oven

Directions

  1. Place a Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add bacon; cook 5 minutes or until crisp, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove bacon from pan, reserving 1 teaspoon drippings in pan. Crumble bacon, and set aside.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high.
  5. Add onion to pan; cook 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add kale, and cook 5 minutes or until wilted, stirring frequently.
  7. Add cider and vinegar; cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add apple, salt, and pepper; cook 5 minutes or until apple is tender, stirring occasionally.
  9. Sprinkle with bacon.
