  • 0.3 cup butter 
  • 0.4 cup cornstarch 
  • cup brown sugar dark
  •  eggs beaten
  • cups milk 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a 1 quart saucepan, stir together sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  2. Place over medium-low heat and stir in eggs and milk. Cook, stirring, until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Stir in vanilla and butter.
  3. Let cool briefly and serve warm, or chill in refrigerator until serving.
