  • 0.3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.3 cup butter softened
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • tablespoons granulated sugar 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.3 cup shortening

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 300F. In large bowl, beat butter, shortening and sugars with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour and salt. (Dough will be dry and crumbly; use hands to mix completely.)
  2. Roll dough into 9x6-inch rectangle on lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.
  4. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake cookies about 25 minutes or until set.
  6. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
