  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • tablespoons chives fresh finely chopped
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.3 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 0.5 cup canola mayonnaise 
  • tablespoon olive oil 
  • cups onion yellow chopped

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat.
  3. Add onion and garlic to pan; saut 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 35 minutes or until very tender and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add cream cheese to pan, and stir to combine.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in mayonnaise and the remaining ingredients.
  6. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
