  • cup chicken broth 
  • teaspoons sage dried
  •  onion divided thinly sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper 
  • pounds potatoes divided peeled thinly sliced
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt 
  • oz cheddar cheese shredded divided
  • cup whipping cream
