Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup wine dry white
  • 0.8 cup fat-skimmed beef broth fat-free
  • 0.3 cup flour all-purpose
  •  garlic clove halved
  • 0.1 teaspoon nutmeg 
  • teaspoon brandy (cherry brandy)
  •  pink lady apples cored cut into 9 wedges
  • ounces swiss cheese shredded

Directions

  1. Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife.
  2. Combine flour, cheese, and nutmeg, tossing well.
  3. Rub cut sides of garlic on inside of a medium, heavy saucepan.
  4. Add broth and wine to pan; bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  5. Add one-third cheese mixture to pan, stirring with a whisk until combined. Repeat procedure with remaining cheese mixture. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently.
  6. Remove cheese mixture from heat; stir in kirsch.
  7. Pour mixture into a fondue pot. Keep warm over low flame.
  8. Serve with apple wedges.
