Ingredients

  • tablespoon beef bouillon granules 
  •  carrots grated peeled
  • 0.3 teaspoon cayenne pepper 
  • 0.5 pound bacon crumbled cooked
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • clove garlic minced
  • pound ground beef drained
  •  jalapeno seeded chopped
  • 2.5 cups milk divided
  •  onion chopped
  • oz pasteurized process cheese spread cubed
  • cups potatoes cubed peeled
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.5 cups water

Directions

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender. Stir in ground beef and 2 cups milk.
  2. Whisk together flour and remaining milk in a small bowl until smooth; gradually whisk into soup. Bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes or until thick and bubbly, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; add cheese and stir until melted.
  3. Add cayenne pepper, if desired. Top with bacon just before serving.
