  • 16 oz beef tenderloin steaks 
  • tablespoon vegetable oil 
  • 0.3 teaspoon garlic salt 
  • 0.5 cup plum tomatoes seeded chopped (Roma)
  • 0.3 cup basil dried fresh chopped
  • oz mozzarella cheese shredded

Equipment

  • oven
  • broiler pan

Directions

  1. Set oven control to broil.
  2. Place steaks on rack in broiler pan.
  3. Brush both sides of steaks with oil; sprinkle with garlic salt.
  4. Broil with tops 4 to 6 inches from heat, turning once, until of desired doneness (10 to 15 minutes for medium, 160°F).
  5. Remove broiler pan from oven.
  6. Sprinkle steaks with tomatoes, basil and cheese. Broil about 1 minute or just until cheese begins to melt.
  7. Serve immediately.
