  • cups chickpeas cooked (garbanzo beans)
  • cups less-sodium chicken broth fat-free
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • cups kale chopped
  •  lemon wedges 
  • cups onion chopped
  • teaspoon oregano dried
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • ounces chorizo diced spanish

Directions

  1. Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add first 3 ingredients to pan; cook 10 minutes or until onion is tender, stirring frequently.
  3. Add broth, chickpeas, oregano, and salt; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes or until chickpeas are very tender. Stir in kale; simmer 10 minutes or until kale is tender.
  4. Serve with lemon wedges.
