  • 15 ounce kidney beans drained canned
  • ounce tomato sauce canned
  • tablespoons chili powder 
  • clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef lean
  •  onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon oregano dried crushed
  • servings salt and pepper to taste
  • cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup water 
  • 16 ounces ziti pasta dry

Directions

  1. In a medium pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion and garlic until the meat is no longer pink; drain fat.
  2. Pour in tomato sauce, chili powder, oregano and cinnamon; mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour in kidney beans and water; stir well. Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low for 30 minutes.
  4. Bring a medium pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  5. Pour in the ziti pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  6. Serve the chili over the ziti and top with cheddar cheese.
