  • teaspoons chiles in adobo sauce 
  • 29 ounce tomatoes diced undrained canned
  • 15 ounce tomato sauce canned
  • tablespoon chili powder 
  •  chipotle peppers in adobo sauce seeded chopped (see Note)
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • large bell pepper green chopped
  • servings green onions sliced
  • teaspoon ground cumin 
  • pound ground round 
  • pound ground venison 
  • servings monterrey jack cheese shredded
  • medium onion chopped
  • teaspoons oregano dried
  • 16 ounce sage-flavored pork sausage 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • servings cup heavy whipping cream sour

Directions

  1. Cook first 6 ingredients in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until beef, venison, and pork crumble and are no longer pink.
  2. Meanwhile, stir together diced tomatoes and next 7 ingredients in a 4 1/2-quart electric slow cooker.
  3. Drain meat mixture, and stir into tomato mixture. Cover and cook on LOW 5 hours.
  4. To serve, spoon chili into bowls. Top with cheese, sour cream, and green onions.
  5. Note: Find chipotle peppers in (7-ounce) cans on the grocery aisle with Mexican ingredients.
