Ingredients

  • 0.8 cup butter 
  • ounces baker's chocolate unsweetened
  • 1.5 cups sugar 
  • teaspoon vanilla 
  •  eggs 
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cup marshmallow creme 
  • 0.5 cup maraschino cherries drained chopped for glaze well
  • ounces semi chocolate chips (1 cup)
  • tablespoons butter 
  • tablespoon plus light
  • tablespoons maraschino cherries

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°. Grease rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches, with shortening.
  2. Heat butter and baking chocolate in heavy 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla and eggs until blended. Stir in flour and salt until smooth.
  4. Spread in pan.
  5. Mix marshmallow creme and cherries in small bowl. Spoon by teaspoonfuls onto batter. Swirl lightly with knife.
  6. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until marshmallow mixture is light golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Make Chocolate-Cherry Glaze; spread over bars. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until glaze is set. For brownies, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows.
  7. Heat chocolate chips, butter and corn syrup in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Stir in cherry juice.
