  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • tablespoons canola oil 
  • 0.8 cup cranberries dried
  • 0.5 cup roasted peanuts 
  • large eggs 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • cup brown sugar light packed
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter 
  • 1.5 cups rolled barley flakes 
  • cup semi chocolate chips divided
  • teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • 0.5 cup flour whole-wheat

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Spray a 13- x 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and peanut butter until well combined. Beat in eggs, oil, and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture.
  4. Add barley flakes (or rolled oats), cranberries, peanuts, and 3/4 cup chocolate chips, stirring to combine.
  5. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
  6. Bake 20-25 minutes, until lightly browned and firm to the touch. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  7. In a small bowl set in a pan of simmering water, melt remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips, stirring until smooth. With fork, drizzle chocolate over bars; refrigerate until set.
  8. Cut into 24 bars.
