Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs 
  •  garlic clove finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup cup heavy whipping cream 
  • servings pepper freshly ground
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • small onion thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese white grated
  • 12 cups swiss chard thick coarsely chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Heat oil in a largeskillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion andgarlic; season with salt and pepper. Cook,stirring occasionally, until onion is softened,8-10 minutes.
  4. Add chard to skillet by the handful,tossing to wilt between additions. Cook,tossing often, until tender, 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add cream and simmer until thickened andalmost evaporated, 8-10 minutes; seasonwith salt and pepper.
  6. Spread chard mixture evenly in a 13x9x2"baking dish. Using the back of a spoon,make 12 small, evenly spaced divots inthe chard mixture. Crack 1 egg into eachdivot. Season eggs with salt and pepper.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over.
  8. Bake, rotating dish once, until eggwhites are almost set and yolks are stillrunny, 15-18 minutes.
  9. Let stand 5 minutesbefore serving.
  10. DO AHEAD: The chard and cream mixturecan be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.Reheat before transferring to baking dish.
