Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup canola oil 
  •  eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • ounces semi chocolate chips 
  • 0.5 cup sugar 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 0.5 cup walnut pieces chopped

Equipment

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the oil, sugars, egg and vanilla.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to sugar mixture and mix well. Divide dough in half.
  3. On a greased baking sheet, shape each portion into a 15-in. x 3-in. rectangle about 3 in. apart.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts if desired over dough; press lightly.
  5. Bake at 375° for 6-7 minutes. (
  6. Bake for 8-9 minutes for crispier cookies.) Cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Cut with a serrated knife into 1-in. strips; remove to wire racks to cool.
