Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • cup butter flavor shortening 
  • 1.3 cups cranberries dried
  •  eggs 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 2.5 cups rolled oats 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • cup sugar 
  • teaspoons vanilla extract 
  • cup walnut pieces coarsely chopped

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
  3. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the cranberries and walnuts.
  4. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Remove to wire racks to cool.
