Ingredients

  • 12 fluid ounce beer canned
  • 0.5 medium head cabbage sliced
  • 15 ounce kidney beans drained and rinsed canned
  • 0.3 tablespoon garlic powder 
  • servings ground pepper black to taste
  • tablespoon mustard dijon-style prepared
  • 0.3 cup onion chopped
  •  potatoes cubed peeled
  • servings salt to taste
  • cups water

    Directions

    1. Bring potatoes, onions, and water to a boil, lower heat to simmer.
    2. Add cabbage and mustard. Slowly add about 1/2 the beer (it will foam up a bit). Cover loosely.
    3. Let simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    4. Add the beans, spices, and more/all of the beer to taste.
    5. Remove lid, let simmer another 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
    6. Add water if necessary. Re-spice if needed before serving.
