  • 0.3 pound bacon diced

  • 28 ounce canned tomatoes diced with juice canned
  •  carrots thinly sliced
  • stalks celery with leaves, thinly sliced
  • 13 ounce clams with juice chopped canned
  • tablespoon parsley fresh chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground pepper black
  • large onion chopped
  • large potatoes diced
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt 
  • teaspoon thyme leaves dried

Directions

  1. Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour off the bacon fat, and place the drained bacon pieces in a slow cooker.
  3. Stir the tomatoes, clams, potatoes, onion, carrots, celery, parsley, salt, pepper, thyme, and bay leaf into the slow cooker, cover, and set the cooker on Low. Cook until the vegetables are tender and the flavors are well blended, 8 to 10 hours.
