Ingredients

  • teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.8 cup cocoa powder 
  • 1.3 cups rice flour white
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.5 cups dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate chips 
  • cup caster sugar 
  • 0.5 cup apple sauce unsweetened
  • tablespoon vanilla extract 
  • 0.3 cup vegetable oil 
  • 0.3 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC or gas mark 4).With a mixer; beat applesauce, water, oil, vanilla, cocoa and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add flour, salt and baking powder and mix until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips.Spoon batter onto a lightly greased 11x17x1-inch jelly roll pan.
  3. Bake for 7 minutes, rotate the pan and bake for an additional 9 minutes.
  4. Let cool completely, then cut with Halloween cookie cutters.
  5. Sprinkle granulated sugar and anything else, including powdered sugar, safe candies or candy pieces, to make the treat your own.
