  • slices bacon chopped
  • 0.5 cup firmly brown sugar packed
  • 19.8 ounce black beans rinsed drained canned
  • 16 ounce chickpeas rinsed drained canned
  • 15.5 ounce kidney beans rinsed drained canned
  • 15.3 ounce lima beans *soaked overnight rinsed drained canned
  • 0.3 cup cider vinegar 
  • cup catsup 
  • large onion diced
  • 28 ounce pork and beans canned
  • 0.5 cup water

Directions

  1. Cook chopped bacon slices in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp; remove bacon, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet.
  2. Add diced onion, and saut in hot drippings 5 minutes or until tender.
  3. Combine bacon, onion, pork and beans, black beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, lima beans, ketchup, brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, and cider vinegar in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake, covered, at 350 for 1 hour; uncover and bake 30 more minutes.
