Ingredients

  • pound apricots sliced
  • 0.3 cup basil fresh packed
  • tablespoons basil fresh chopped
  • tablespoon lemon zest packed
  • tablespoon orange zest packed
  • 0.5 pound peaches peeled sliced
  • 0.5 pound plums sliced
  • 0.5 cup sugar 
  • cup water

Directions

  1. Bring water and sugar to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat, and stir in 1/4 cup firmly packed fresh basil leaves, orange zest, and lemon zest.
  3. Let stand 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine peaches, plums, and apricots in a large bowl.
  4. Pour sugar mixture through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a bowl; discard solids. Stir 1/4 to 1/2 cup syrup and 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil into fruit; reserve remaining syrup for another use.
