  • large baking apples are apples that have a sweet-tart balance and hold their shape when thinly sliced
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 15 oz betty crocker's cake mix gluten free yellow
  • 0.5 cup nuts chopped
  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  •  eggs beaten
  • serving whipped cream gluten-free

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, toss apples and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  2. Spread apples evenly in ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  3. In large bowl, mix cake mix and nuts. With pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until crumbly.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon and the egg; mix well.
  5. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
  6. Bake about 45 minutes or until topping is light brown.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream.
