Ingredients

  • tablespoons butter 
  • ounce water chestnuts drained sliced canned
  • 10.8 ounce cream of mushroom soup canned
  • 2.8 ounce french-fried onion rings canned
  • cups green beans fresh chopped
  •  onion diced finely
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper sauce hot
  • teaspoon salt 
  • 12 ounces sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • teaspoons soya sauce 
  • tablespoons worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Steam beans over a pot of boiling water until tender but still firm. Rinse under cold water to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and saute onions.
  4. Add salt, soy sauce, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce and mushroom soup; mix well.
  5. In a small casserole dish, layer half the beans, chestnuts, cheese and soup mixture. Repeat layer.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Top with onions and heat 10 minutes longer.
