  • tablespoons butter 
  • cups chicken broth 
  • tablespoons cornstarch 
  • pounds green beans trimmed
  • tablespoons juice of lemon 
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.3 cup slivered almonds toasted
  • 0.3 cup water

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add beans and saute 5 minutes.
  3. Add broth and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet. Bring to a boil; cook one minute, stirring constantly. Stir in lemon juice.
  4. Sprinkle with almonds.
