  • tablespoons almonds coarsely chopped
  • slices bacon 
  • tablespoons brown sugar 
  • pounds green beans 
  • 0.3 cup shallots minced
  • 0.3 cup balsamic vinegar white

Directions

  1. Cook green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes.
  2. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  3. Drain well; set aside.
  4. Cook bacon in a small skillet over medium-high heat until crisp.
  5. Remove bacon from skillet. Crumble; set aside.
  6. Add shallots to bacon fat in skillet; saut 1 minute.
  7. Add almonds; saut 1 minute.
  8. Remove and let cool.
  9. Add sugar and vinegar; stir until sugar dissolves.
  10. Add crumbled bacon.
  11. Pour vinaigrette over beans, tossing gently to coat.
