Ingredients

  • teaspoon celery salt 
  • 0.5 cup herbs fresh assorted loosely packed
  •  garlic clove minced
  • tablespoons hot sauce green
  •  green onions 
  • 1.5 lb tomatoes green cored quartered
  • tablespoons juice of lime 
  • slices garnishes: pickled okra halved
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 15 oz tomatillos fresh cored
  • 0.8 cup vodka 

Equipment

  • sieve
  • blender

Directions

  1. Cook first 2 ingredients in boiling salted water to cover 3 minutes; drain. Plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain.
  2. Process tomatoes, tomatillos, green onions, and next 7 ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  3. Pour mixture through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a pitcher, discarding solids.
  4. Serve over ice.
  5. Garnish, if desired.
  6. *Tequila may be substituted.
  7. Note: We tested with Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce.
