  • tablespoon bourbon 
  • teaspoons brown sugar 
  • 1.5 pounds flank steak trimmed
  • tablespoon rosemary fresh chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 0.5 cup less-sodium beef broth 
  • teaspoon olive oil 
  • 0.1 teaspoon salt 
  • tablespoons shallots finely chopped
  • tablespoons tomato paste

Directions

  1. Prepare grill to medium-high.
  2. Sprinkle steak with rosemary, pepper, and kosher salt.
  3. Place steak on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 7 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
  4. Remove from grill; let stand 10 minutes. Cover and keep warm.
  5. While steak rests, heat oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  6. Add shallots; saut 1 minute.
  7. Add tomato paste; cook 1 minute. Stir in broth and sugar. Bring to a boil; cook 3 minutes or until thickened.
  8. Remove from heat; stir in bourbon, vinegar, and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
  9. Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices.
  10. Serve with sauce.
