Ingredients

  • 1.5 teaspoons five-spice powder 
  • 1.5 teaspoons pepper black
  • stick cinnamon (3-inch)
  • 1.5 teaspoons sesame oil dark
  • tablespoon ginger fresh minced peeled
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.3 cup green onions thinly sliced
  • tablespoons green onions minced
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground coriander 
  • 0.3 cup honey 
  • 0.5 cup soya sauce low-sodium
  • 0.5 cup orange juice fresh ( 1 orange)
  • strips orange rind (1/2-inch)
  • ounce salmon fillet thick ( 2 inches )
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • tablespoon sesame seed toasted
  • tablespoon sugar 

Equipment

Directions

  1. To prepare spice mixture, combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. To prepare glaze, combine rind and next 8 ingredients (rind through cinnamon) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Strain through a sieve; discard solids.
  3. Prepare grill.
  4. Rub the fillets with spice mixture. Cover; refrigerate 10 minutes.
  5. Place, skin sides down, on a grill rack coated with cooking spray. Grill 16 minutes, covered, or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, basting occasionally with glaze.
  6. Remove skin; discard. Arrange fillets on a platter; sprinkle with sliced onions and sesame seeds.
