  • 64 ounce chicken broth 
  • cups ham cooked chopped
  • 30 servings cornbread croutons 
  • 16 ounce cannellini beans dried
  •  garlic cloves minced
  •  ham bone 
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper dried red crushed
  • large onion diced sweet

Directions

  1. Sort and wash beans.
  2. Place beans in a 6-quart Dutch oven; add water 2 inches above beans, and soak 8 hours.
  3. Drain.
  4. Saut ham, onion, and garlic in hot oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until onion is tender.
  5. Add beans, ham bone, chicken broth, and red pepper. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender and soup has thickened.
  6. Serve with Cornbread Croutons.
