  • slices bacon chopped
  • 0.3 cup firmly brown sugar packed
  • 48 ounce pinto beans drained canned
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.5 medium size bell pepper green chopped
  • 0.3 cup catsup 
  • 0.3 cup blackstrap molasses 
  • 2.5 tablespoons mustard prepared
  • large onion chopped

Directions

  1. Cook bacon slices in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving drippings in pan.
  2. Saut onion and garlic in reserved drippings until tender.
  3. Combine bacon slices, onion mixture, beans, and remaining ingredients in a slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or on LOW for 5 to 6 hours.
