  • 0.3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.3 cup butter 
  • ounce vanilla pudding instant
  • cups milk 
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped
  • 9-inch pie crust dough ()
  • ounce non-dairy whipped topping frozen thawed

Directions

  1. Heat butter or margarine with brown sugar and nuts in a saucepan until melted.
  2. Spread in the bottom of the baked pie shell.
  3. Bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) for 5 minutes. Cool.
  4. Prepare vanilla pudding mix with milk as directed for a pie; cool for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Measure 1 cup, cover with waxed paper, and chill thoroughly.
  5. Pour remainder into pie shell. Chill.
  6. Fold 1/3 cup whipped topping into the 1 cup reserved pudding.
  7. Spread over nuts in pie shell. Chill.
  8. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and chopped pecans.
