  • 12  mission figs black stemmed ripe halved lengthwise
  • 0.3 teaspoon ginger fresh grated peeled
  • tablespoon grand marnier orange-flavored ( liqueur)
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream 
  • large navel oranges peeled
  • tablespoons orange blossom honey 
  • tablespoons orange juice fresh
  • 1.5 tablespoons caster sugar 
  • 0.3 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Arrange fig halves, cut side down, in a single layer in an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray.
  3. Combine honey, juice, ginger, and vanilla, stirring with a whisk.
  4. Drizzle honey mixture over figs.
  5. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes; turn figs over.
  6. Bake an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven; cool to room temperature.
  8. Combine orange sections and fig mixture, tossing gently.
  9. Place cream in a medium bowl; beat with a mixer at high speed until soft peaks form.
  10. Add sugar and liqueur; beat at high speed until stiff peaks form. Divide fig mixture evenly among 8 bowls; top each serving with about 2 tablespoons whipped cream.
  11. Garnish with mint leaves, if desired.
