  • inches cinnamon sticks for the wine, more sticks for serving
  • 0.8 cup honey 
  • servings lemon zest for serving thin
  • 750 ml red wine 
  • 0.8 cup water

  1. Into a 2-qt saucepan, put the wine, water, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, and honey (if you are unsure about the sweetness level, start with less honey and add more to taste).
  2. Heat until steamy and lightly simmering.Strain into glass mugs.
