  • 1.5 cups brown sugar light packed
  • cup butter 
  • cups pinenuts 
  • cups rolled oats 
  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. In 2-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Pour mixture into ungreased 13x9-inch pan. With rubber spatula, spread mixture in pan until even.
  5. Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until edges are golden brown and firm.
  6. Remove from oven to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 45 minutes.
  7. With table knife, cut baked mixture into 6 rows by 6 rows to make 36 bars. Store in loosely covered container.
