  • 0.5 cup apples chopped
  • 1.5 cups rice uncooked
  • tablespoon brown sugar 
  • tablespoon butter 
  • cups celery chopped
  •  chicken bouillon cubes 
  • teaspoon curry powder 
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • small onion chopped
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.5 cup raisins 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cups water

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan; add celery, onion, and garlic, and saute until tender.
  2. Add 4 cups water and next 7 ingredients; bring to a boil. Stir in rice; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, and let stand 10 minutes. Stir in pecans and apple.
  4. Note: Basmati rice is a fine-textured long-grain rice. It can be found in Indian or Middle Eastern markets or the Indian or Middle Eastern departments of supermarkets.
