Ingredients

  • 0.7 cup cider vinegar 
  • Dash ground cloves 
  • large apples i use 2 granny smith apples cored chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground ginger 
  • Dash ground nutmeg 
  •  jalapeño peppers sliced
  • Dash salt 
  • cups sugar 
  • pounds cherries sweet pitted coarsely chopped
  • 1.5 cups water

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer until slightly thick and reduced to 4 cups (about 50 minutes), skimming foam from surface of mixture occasionally. Cool; pour into an airtight container. (
  2. Mixture will thicken as it cools.) Cover and chill.
  3. Note: Refrigerate preserves in an airtight container for up to three weeks.
