Ingredients

  • sprig mint leaves fresh ()
  • 0.3 cup juice of lemon fresh
  • 0.8 cup sugar 
  •  family-sized tea bags 
  • cups water divided

Equipment

  • measuring cup

Directions

  1. Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add tea bags and mint to pan; steep 10 minutes.
  3. Remove and discard tea bags and mint.
  4. Combine sugar and juice in a glass measuring cup.
  5. Add 1/2 cup hot tea mixture; stir until sugar dissolves.
  6. Pour sugar mixture into a 2-quart pitcher.
  7. Pour the remaining hot tea mixture into pitcher.
  8. Add 4 cups cold water; stir.
  9. Serve over ice.
  10. Garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs, if desired.
